We are a small team that works with a select number of associates to provide counselling and psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children in person from our rooms near Solihull (Knowle B93) and via Zoom. We also work in partnership with other organisations to provide counselling to their pupils and service users. Our current partners include King Edward VI, King’s Norton School for Boys in Birmingham.
John Gillies-Wilkes
John is a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. He originally trained as a counsellor working with adults in 1992. He has recently completed an MSc in Counselling (Children and Young People) at Birmingham City University and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). He works with adults, adolescents and children using an integrative person centred approach. In addition to his work with Interspiral, he is the lead therapist for a Birmingham addiction and recovery service.
Julia Gillies
Julia is a psychotherapist. She originally trained as a counsellor in 2000 and in 2020 completed an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at Birmingham City University. She is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and BACP and works exclusively with adults.

Fox
Fox is our therapy dog. He is a friendly little chap with a warm and affectionate nature. If you would like him to, he may be able to join a session.
